Aluminum Fence Installation

Aluminum gives you the classic look of wrought iron without the rust, weight, or upkeep. It's the most common choice for pool enclosures and a favorite for front yards, patios, and retaining walls. Shepherd Fencing installs residential and commercial aluminum fencing across Lancaster County and nearby communities.

Why homeowners choose aluminum

No rust, no painting, an open look that keeps views, and styles that meet pool-barrier requirements.

Things to know

Aluminum doesn't give privacy, and it isn't built to hold back large dogs that jump or lean on it. For privacy, see vinyl or wood.

What Affects the Price

Every fence is priced on its own measurements, so we don't publish one-size-fits-all prices. These are the things that move the number up or down:

We give free written estimates after seeing your property. Read our fence cost guide for more, or ask about financing.

How It Works

  1. Free on-site estimateWe walk the property with you, measure, talk through materials and styles, and give you a written quote at no charge.
  2. Permits & property linesWe can pull the permit with your municipality for you (or you can pull it yourself), check HOA rules if you have them, and work from your survey so posts go on the right side of the line.
  3. Utility markingPennsylvania law requires a PA One Call (811) request before digging. We handle it, so underground lines are marked before we set a post.
  4. InstallationOld fence removal before install, if you're replacing one. Then posts set to the right depth for Pennsylvania frost, sections set level or stepped to your grade, and gates hung and adjusted.
  5. Walkthrough & cleanupWe walk the finished fence with you, clean up the site, and give you your warranty and care information.

Every install is backed by our 2-year workmanship warranty, with materials covered by the manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty. Warranty details.

Aluminum Fence FAQ

Does an aluminum pool fence meet Pennsylvania code?
Pool-grade aluminum styles are designed to meet Pennsylvania pool-barrier rules, including minimum height, picket spacing, and self-closing, self-latching gates. Rules vary by municipality, so we confirm your local requirements before every pool fence.
Will an aluminum fence rust?
No. Aluminum doesn't rust, and the powder coat protects the finish. Materials are backed by the manufacturer's limited lifetime warranty.
Can aluminum fence go on a slope?
Yes. Sections can be stepped or racked to follow grade, stairs, or a retaining wall.
Do I need a permit?
Pool fences almost always need a permit, and many front-yard fences do too. We can pull the permit for you, or you can pull it yourself. See our permit guide.
How much does an aluminum fence cost?
It depends on footage, height, grade, style, and gates. We give free written estimates. Our cost guide explains what moves the price.
